Closing Date: Friday 8th May 2026

We are seeking motivated Manufacturing Apprentices to support the production of high-quality composite and precision-machined components. These roles provide structured exposure across composite manufacturing and CNC machining, enabling you to develop a broad, practical skillset within a high-performance engineering environment.

Working alongside experienced technicians, machinists, and engineers, the apprentices will gain hands-on experience in material preparation, CNC-operated cutting and machining, component finishing, inspection, and assembly, while developing a strong understanding of quality, safety, and engineering standards. These roles are ideal for people with a strong interest in engineering and manufacturing, who are practical, detail-focused, and keen to build a long-term technical career.

Composite Manufacturing

  • Assist with preparation and cutting of composite materials using CNC cutting systems
  • Load and orient materials accurately in line with lay-up and nesting requirements
  • Support hand lay-up activities, including ply preparation, tool and mould preparation, and lay-up execution
  • Assist with vacuum bagging, consumable application, and curing preparation
  • Support trimming, finishing, and assembly of cured composite components using hand and air tools
  • Carry out edge finishing, hole preparation, insert installation, bonding, and mechanical assembly under supervision
  • Inspect components to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements

CNC Machining & Tooling

  • Assist with CNC machining of metallic components such as aluminium, steel, and titanium
  • Support machining of patterns, mandrels, tooling, and composite-related components
  • Assist with machine setup activities, including tooling, work holding, and datum setting under supervision
  • Safely run proven CNC programs and monitor machining operations
  • Support tool changes, offsets, de-burring, and finishing tasks
  • Learn and apply appropriate machining strategies for metallic and non-metallic materials
  • Support surface-finish-critical and complex tooling operations

Inspection, Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Measure components using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometres, and gauges
  • Check components against engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Record inspection results and report non-conformances promptly
  • Develop an understanding of tolerances, surface finishes, and manufacturing limits
  • Follow build standards, quality procedures, and continuous improvement practices

Health, Safety & Working Standards

  • Follow all health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
  • Use PPE correctly and consistently
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and controlled working environment
  • Use materials, tools, machines, and equipment responsibly
  • Carry out basic machine and workstation checks, cleaning, and routine operator maintenance
  • Report defects, hazards, or concerns promptly

Driven by high performance
What do you need to bring to the team?

  • Strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, composites, or machining
  • Willingness to learn new skills across multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Good attention to detail with pride in workmanship
  • Ability to follow instructions, technical drawings, and procedures accurately
  • Positive, team-focused attitude and strong work ethic
  • Level 4 or above in Maths & English GCSEs
