Job Description:
The AMA is in search of a detailed-oriented and professional self-starter to work in the Racing Department as our Assistant Track Racking Manager. The ideal candidate will have superior organizational, communication and project management skills and a get-it-done attitude, with an ability to work independently and confidently in event support environments.
The Assistant Track Racing Manager Supports the AMA Track Racing Manager in the administration, coordination, and promotion of AMA Track Racing activities nationwide. Assists with implementation of rules, regulations, programs, and operational initiatives within the Racing Department while ensuring consistent service to members, organizers, and partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating AMA Track Racing activities and initiatives nationwide.
- Support the communication of rules, decisions, and regulations to members, organizers, and officials.
- Provide administrative support for track racing sanctioning services and event documentation.
- Help review and process supplemental rules submissions related to AMA Track Racing.
- Support preparation and organization of materials for Track Racing Commission meetings.
- Support the management of protests and appeals processes; coordinate documentation and scheduling as directed.
- Attend events, meetings, and competitions as assigned by the Track Racing Manager or Deputy Director of Racing.
- Assist with Racing Department events (e.g., Vintage Motorcycle Days, Congress/Banquet, etc.).
- Provide guidance to officials and organizers regarding rules interpretation under direction of the Manager.
- Draft and edit communications, bulletins, and rule clarifications related to AMA Track Racing.
- Assist in reviewing press releases and racing event schedules for publication.
- Serve as a point of contact for members, organizers, and partners, escalating complex matters to the Manager as appropriate.
- Support management of relationships with promotional partners, district representatives, and event organizers.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders including members, insurance providers, and AMA staff.
- Provide cross-disciplinary support to other racing disciplines as needed.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of AMA Track Racing rules and structure.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional judgment and ability to handle sensitive or confidential matters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management systems.
- Knowledge of AMA Policy and procedures, AMS, AMA Back Office, AMA Organizer Portal
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; bend, stoop, push/pull heavier objects
- Environment: inside; some minor discomforts, outside; exposed to dust, fumes, noise
- Bachelors Degree or 3 – 5 years of job related experience
- Some specialized commercial/technical/vocational education beyond high school
