Role Overview:

We are looking for a Associate Editor to join our Digital Content team at Formula 1 Reporting into our Senior Editor, Written, this role will provide editorial support across our website and apps. This role will be based out of our London office, it will not be expected to have any international travel.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Editorial assistance on F1.com and the app in particular, including Storyteller
  • Oversight of Race Guide area
  • Help in content planning and project management across web and app
  • Strong news and feature writing abilities
  • Analytics oversight across web and app
  • Race weekend work, alongside Editor/Deputy Editor
  • Management of ‘fringe’ editorial elements: ESG, Lifestyle, Fantasy/Gaming, Betting, F2/F3, Race Promotions, Apple News
  • Management of new ‘in language’ programme

Qualifications

Not essential to be successful in the role but you may also have the following qualifications:

  • Journalism/Sports journalism degree

Experience

Prior to the role it would be essential that you:

  • Have experience managing a website or app
  • Social media experience would be desirable, but not essential
  • Ideally experience of managing direct report/s
  • Have news and feature writing experience
  • Have experience of editorial analytics and building a content strategy
  • Project management experience would be desirable, but not essential
  • Some product experience would be useful, but not essential

Knowledge & skills

Prior to the role it is essential that you demonstrate:

  • Experience of Content Management Systems
  • Working F1 and F1 history knowledge, and knowledge of general sports media landscape
  • Experience of overseeing a website or app
