Why our Apprenticeship?
Our Dyno Test Technician Apprenticeship gives you the chance to begin your career right at the heart of our worldclass Formula One team. You’ll be part of the team responsible for running and supporting power unit tests on our state-of-the-art dyno facilities, helping us understand performance, reliability and development opportunities.
As an Apprentice, you’ll experience key areas within the Test & Development environment to build a strong foundation in how we prepare, operate and maintain dyno equipment. This Level 4 Apprenticeship is designed to help you grow your confidence, develop practical technical skills and understand how dyno testing supports every stage of power unit development.
Throughout the programme, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians and engineers who will guide you as you learn how to set up test rigs, monitor live data, carry out inspections and support test preparation.
This Apprenticeship will equip you with a multidisciplinary foundation as you carve out a career within Red Bull Powertrains and contribute to Red Bull’s relentless pursuit of innovation and competitive advantage in Formula One.
To be considered for the apprenticeship:
A Level Maths (essential)
5 GCSE's grade 9 – 4 (A*- C) including Maths, English and Science
A demonstrable passion through personal projects, competitions, or practical experience
Positive, can-do, attitude and willingness to continually learn and develop new skills
Excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment
Curiosity, creativity and the courage to challenge your personal performance boundaries
Skills You’ll Master:
·Building a solid understanding of how our dyno facilities operate and how they support power unit testing
·Learning to set up test rigs, prepare equipment and support test runs with accuracy and attention to detail
·Developing confidence in using tools, workshop equipment and diagnostic systems
·Working closely with technicians and engineers to monitor tests, record data and help identify issues
·Growing your communication skills by working with different teams across Test, Build and Engineering
·Building strong organisational habits to keep work areas, tools and test equipment safe, tidy and ready for use
·Contributing ideas to improve testing processes, support reliability and help the team run smoothly
