As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will design, develop and implement innovative mechanical / composite components and systems. If you have an open and curious mind, a creative approach to problems, and are keen to develop yourself further, this could be the perfect opportunity to launch your career in a dynamic team environment.

Our graduate scheme is a fantastic opportunity to learn from exceptional professionals who bring passion and determination to everything they do. Immersed in a high-performance culture and guided by experienced specialists, you will develop your skills and knowledge, applying your theoretical knowledge and skills to deliver real-world impact.

Working collaboratively as part of a small team, you will apply your creative and thoughtful nature to a variety of stimulating challenges. By interpreting trends and building insight, you will create novel solutions to real problems. As a valued member of the Design Group, your ideas will make a real contribution to the success of our Applied Science projects.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Designing innovative mechanical and composite components and systems

  • Owning projects from concept, through design and testing to implementation

  • Supporting senior engineers on larger, more complex initiatives

  • Generating 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings, including defining and documenting manufacturing information

  • Improving existing processes and introducing new capabilities

Supported and guided by experts, you will grow your technical and professional skills. Immersed in a culture of empowerment, fresh thinking and continuous learning, you will build a strong foundation for a successful career in your chosen field.

This role is office-based, at our campus in Brackley, United Kingdom.

Technical Skills and Experience

Required:

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Examples could include: Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or Motorsport Engineering, or similar

  • Experience of mechanical and / or composite design, gained through academic projects, extra-curricular activities or working in industry

  • Proficiency using a CAD package – we use 3DX, and will give you appropriate training

  • An interest in mechanical and composite design, materials, and manufacturing techniques

Candidate profile:

Your commitment and diligence have yielded good university results: you have completed, or will soon be completing, a relevant course of undergraduate or post-graduate study and you have a good appreciation of the relevant technical subject matter.

With an open and honest communication style, you relish collaborating in a team setting and enjoy discussing technical concepts. You are equally comfortable working on your own: applying your reflective nature, interpretive skills, attention to detail and dependable judgment to understand complicated problems then propose and evaluate viable solutions in a timely fashion. Looking to fulfil your potential, you are excited about constantly learning while fostering the understanding of others.

A prior interest or involvement in motorsport is not required: we are more interested in your potential to deliver at the highest level, applying your skills and understanding to practical challenges.
