The Role

We’re seeking a skilled and flexible NDT Technician to carry out inspections and testing of both new and in-service components across our Race Team, Race Support Team, and other high-profile projects.

This role supports our race team with key NDT inspection as well as supporting dynamic trackside responsibilities, supporting race car build, setup, and pitstop execution.

You’ll be responsible for selecting appropriate NDT methods, conducting inspections to the highest standards, and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. Your technical insight will help shape workflows and improve reliability across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • To Inspect new and in-service components using the correct NDT method for Race team, requiring the use of NDT inspection to a high standard, meeting the required deadlines, ensuring on time delivery to the end user.
  • Prompt creation of NDT reports ensuring that component information is up to date.
  • Liaise Reliability engineers regarding non-conformance findings during inspection or report review stages.
  • Personal accountability for ensuring equipment is kept in good working order, clean, safe and that any issues are reported to the Team Leader or Chief Mechanic.
  • File management of hard and soft copy documentation for easy identification and retrieval.

Additional Duties

  • Play an active role in the build, set-up and running of the race cars as directed by the Chief Mechanic.
  • General Practical support with car build/ garage set up / set down and general day to day tasks.
  • Support successful pitstop execution as part of the pit crew.


What We’re Looking For

SKILLS

  • Strong engineering background – able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications that enable appropriate inspection levels. while picking out relevant information to record conformance to specification.
  • Excellent knowledge of NDT processes (UT, PT, MP, ET.)
  • NDT Level 2 Qualification or EN4179 accreditation in above methods.
  • PC literate with good working knowledge of the MS office products, particular attention to Dynamics 365, Excel, Word, Part and Works Order Portals.

APTITUDE

  • Flexible approach to working time, in order to achieve self and team targets, within a fast-paced environment, with ability to remain focused, objective under pressure, working to deadlines and with minimum supervision. Including short notice request for additional support.
  • The additional duties required by the race team make this role a physically demanding position. The successful candidate will be expected to train with the team regularly to achieve a good level of fitness to ensure you can effectively and safely perform in this role.
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communicator. Able to ensure appropriate information is understood, recorded and passed to relevant parties.
  • Well organised with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated interest for continuous improvement.
  • The ability to create a positive profile for yourself and the department with a ‘can do’ approach.
  • Ability to work alone, and with other members of the team, meeting the demands of the department, support trackside activities.
