Alpine Formula One Team is seeking an experienced, skilled, and motivated Wind Tunnel Control Systems Team Leader to join our Experimental Aerodynamics Department. The Role
As Wind Tunnel Control Systems Team Leader, you will take ownership of the control systems that underpin our wind tunnel facility, test rigs, and supporting technologies. You will lead a team of Control Systems Engineers, ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of this critical infrastructure.
Working closely with design, electrical, software, aerodynamic, and wind tunnel engineers, you will ensure that our testing environment is robust, efficient, and capable of delivering the highest‑quality data. You’ll also drive forward new tools, control strategies, and simulation capabilities that support innovation across the department.
This is a leadership‑focused, highly technical role that blends software, control systems engineering, operational support, and team development.
The Person
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in electrical or control systems engineering, with proven experience in complex test facility or industrial automation environments. You’ll be comfortable balancing hands‑on engineering with leadership responsibilities, capable of diagnosing and resolving issues quickly while also driving strategic improvements to systems and processes. You will be an effective communicator, a natural collaborator, and someone who takes pride in delivering reliable, high quality work. A passion for continuous improvement, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset are essential.

Working Pattern
This is a factory‑based role at our Enstone Technical Centre in the Oxfordshire countryside. Standard working hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. A flexible attitude to working hours is required, with the expectation that you will work as necessary to meet the demands of the role. Occasional weekend work and travel will also be required.
